Two of the best-known names in Creation Science will be in southeastern Wisconsin on January 30-31, headlining a conference designed to train Christians to defend and share the faith with boldness and confidence.
Ken Ham is president and co-founder of Answers in Genesis (AiG), a biblical apologetics ministry and nonprofit Christian organization dedicated to confirming the validity of the Bible from the very first verse. He is a popular speaker, addressing tens of thousands annually; the host of a daily radio feature on 1,000-plus stations; and a best-selling author of books ranging from Darwin’s Plantation: Evolution’s Racist Roots to Already Gone, an exploration of why so many young people leave the church of their youth.
Ham is a frequent guest on national TV news and talk-show programs, including CBS News Sunday Morning, The NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams, The O’Reilly Factor, and The PBS News Hour with Jim Lehrer. A native of Australia, he holds a bachelor’s degree in applied science with an emphasis on environmental biology, a diploma of education and three honorary doctorates.
Jason Lisle, Ph.D., is a practicing astrophysicist and astronomer who also serves as a speaker and researcher for AiG. His popular planetarium programs reveal how physical scientific evidence refutes evolutionary accounts of origins while supporting the Biblical account of creation.
Dr. Lisle graduated summa cum laude from Ohio Wesleyan University with a double major in physics and astronomy and a minor in mathematics. He earned his Master’s and Ph.D. in astrophysics from the University of Colorado.
Entitled “Not Ashamed,” the conference is part of AIG’s I Am Not Ashamed online video Bible campaign – a multi-media campaign designed to highlight the respect and appreciation that most people have for the Bible as the Word of God, and as the authority for our lives. The campaign’s title is a reference to a passage Romans 1, in which the apostle Paul wrote, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes.”
In addition to conducting about 250 conferences such as this one each year, Answers in Genesis founded the high-tech Creation Museum, which opened to international acclaim in 2007 and has attracted more than 1 million visitors since then. Its outreaches also include an award-winning web site, Answers magazine and the Answers radio program.
The sessions are free and, except for the Monday morning sessions for students and their parents, open to the public. For details, visit www.answersingenesis.org/go/brookfield or www.brooksidebaptist.org.
