The Weaponization of Evolution
Charles Darwin did not create the concept of "survival of the fittest"; he merely gave it a name. Throughout history, powerful groups have deemed themselves superior to others, using this belief as justification for oppression, exploitation, and violence against those they deemed less fit.
In this compelling presentation, Pastor Richard Brown of the Captive Project Church will unveil the insidious ways the theory of evolution has been used as a weapon to harm minorities and undermine the Body of Jesus Christ. Long before the theory even had a name, its deadly impact on humanity and faith was already unfolding. Prepare to discover the untold story of how a scientific theory became a tool for division, harm, and oppression.

Our Speaker: Pastor Richard Brown
Richard Brown has been married to Aurelia Brown for more than 34 years and is currently the Director of Joy House, a ministry for women and children, at the Milwaukee Rescue Mission. He is a father of four children: Alysha, Aurelia, Courtney, and Malcolm.

Richard has been involved in ministry for over 40 years and has served in various capacities, including as the Assistant Youth Director at the Milwaukee Rescue Mission, where he led outreaches such as the “Hoops4Him” Christian Basketball League, the “Each One Reach One” tutorial program, the “Teens on the Move” community youth Bible study program, and the “Next Generation Project,” which develops youth into spiritual leaders for future ministries.

He has also served at Brothers and Sisters In Christ Serving (BASICS) in Milwaukee, a Christian organization that provides ministry outreach leadership and resources to prepare indigenous leaders to support sustainable community development by integrating spiritual, social, and physical aspects into the change process. BASICS is the parent ministry of The Captive Project.

Richard also served as the Urban Affairs Coordinator for Converge Great Lakes, a district office of Converge Worldwide, which offers essential ministry services to grow spiritually, reach nations, plant churches, develop leaders, mobilize churches, show compassion, and live generously. The Captive Project Church & Ministries is in an affiliation relationship with Converge Great Lakes.

Richard’s focus is on penetrating marginalized communities with the Gospel to glorify Christ and change the city for the kingdom of God. He believes that concentrated discipleship will allow for a transformation within the person, helping them to make decisions that promote non-violence in the urban community and emphasizing the importance of making disciples to change their community and city.
